Popkomm 2008 “Berlin-Istanbul Alternative Electro Night“
With the title „DJ POPKOMM - Berlin Istanbul Alternatively Electro Night“, presented Popkomm together with the Club Commission on the 11th of October the Berlin club night.
The programm in Maschinenhaus of the Kulturbrauerei traded in this evening under „Berlin Istanbul Alternatively Electro Night“. No less than the DJ Ipek Ipekcioglu very popular in the Berlin club scene has decisively helped in the choice line-ups. Thus stood with “Norrda” and “Gevende” two outstanding bands from Istanbul on the stage.

Beyond the musical mainstream scene in Turkey which exists predominantly of pop, rock and folk music the more and more sprouting and for Istanbul had to do very stamping, musical Underground scene to point.
Beside these both live bands, have been a part Berlin DJ’s duet Electric Migration, Ipek Ipekcioglu and VJ Soner Ipekcioglu. www.popkomm.de

KANAKWOOD “post-migrant-sounds”
Ipek hosts and organises together with Gió Di Sera / Radio Kanaka International, the post-migrant artist-network-events “Kanakwood”.

This salon was founded in 2003 as an network and platform and combines artists from music, film, Literatur and involves mostly artists with migrant backrounds.
Berlin’s typical “Kanakcultur” shall be expressed by serving a platform and the diversity of Berlin’s cultures. Kanakwood is interdisciplinary and is not fixed on any space or idelogie.
Kanakwood was supported and participated by artists as like Fatih Akın, Eleni Ampelatiotov, Züli Aladag, Gianluca Vallero, Thomas Arslan, Neco Celik, Daniel Acht, Ali Eckert, Emily Atef and Ayse Polat genutzt wird.

Film screenings, literature, fine arts and music as club culture create an open space. It is a large circle of friends , everyone is very welcome to join Kanakwood. Kanakwood is well-known for there parties during the film festival Berlinale.
